Hockey India

Dedicated to the growth of Hockey in the country, Hockey India is working with Sports Authority of India and Department of Sports, Government of India to facilitate athletes at sub-junior, junior and senior levels (1). They are striving towards improving all styles of management, leadership and coaching styles.

During 2019, Hockey India started the Hockey India Coaching Education Pathway (1). This pathway trains coaches allowing them to obtain international standard certification (1). Hockey India has also worked in conjunction with their major sponsors in bringing top International hockey events to India such as the FIH Men’s World Cup, FIH Champions Trophy, FIH Junior Men’s World Cup and FIH Hockey World League Final (1). Hockey India’s goal is to constantly promote the game. Hockey India is dedicated to getting their national team (both men and women) into the top three ranks teams in the world. Through program management programs like these, countries are able to further their national elite team’s performances in the International arena.

Funding

As we know funding is everything in terms of making things happen. Thankfully Hockey India is lucky to have three major sponsors on board to help with programs like the one mentioned above. These sponsors are vital in the continuing growth of performance in the world area and also key for continuing the expansion of Hockey throughout India (1).
