Introduction

Performance analysis is the process of recording, monitoring and evaluating performance in sport. Developing an understanding of the movements, decision making process and key tendencies involved in a training session or competition. The aim of performance analysis is to generate feedback for coaches and athletes to survey in order to improve performance (1,2,3,4), whether it be through video based learning, measuring of key performance indicators or monitoring the players training loads. There are two main methods for analysing the performance of athletes and they are video based and statistical based (1).
